Aloha mai Kākou, Keili here!
Hope you are having a lovely week thus far, at work and in life it seems like the holidays are vastly approaching alongside a lot more birthdays than I remember having this time last year lol.
Fall is always strange here, having grown up in California I remember feeling a shift in weather going instantly chill and wet. Here, it’s always seemed to remain paradise all year round. Which is perhaps why some insist there is no bad season for sailing in Hawaiʻi. However, having a boat I now understand that there are a lot more factors at work than simply rain and temperature.

The seasons bring a certain lethargy to my thoughts as well, a longing for childhood holidays reincarnate that are impossible to recreate. I'm determined this year to create new traditions, try new things, and shed my expectations.
Been staying busy with woodworking projects for Kapa, pursuing my masters degree in Sustainability, enjoying the world and of course working and all the day to day. It seems as though there are endless fun projects all around!
That being said, there are also new fun things happening this season for ʻAʻĀ!
Including a birthday sandbar weekend with the Kaplan’s, a fun mini voyage with her to Kahana next week, and the eventual change of her mast set up and big move to Hawaii Kai harbor zones.
All of these efforts will take just that - effort! So mahalo to everyone who has been reaching out with experience, tips, and sharing their manaʻo and time.
Sailing her throughout Kāneʻohe has been so lovely, and we hope to bring her back and or get another slip just as awesome (if that’s even possible) so if anyone has any advice - please share!
Because of all the extra shiz biz going on, I’ve been feeling kinda burnt out, so I don’t have much to report on, sadly. But, all is in seasons… im sure next time round I will have some juicy word steak for you. But for now, I leave you with these cute cookies.

P.S.: if you have any good topic ideas for this blog that you would like us to explore - send ʻem over!

As always, this post is dedicated to my superwoman mother, Illa McEvilly, who made sure my sister and I were always moving in the right direction even on days when it was hard. Thanks to everyone who has been taking Chrisʻs classes, following along, and joining the journey! Love you all.
