Ethnomads AUS
Kalani edt.
Aloha e! Kalani here,
Checking in and wanting to share about our time in Australia so far.
I truly can’t thank Chris and Keʻili enough to include me in this incredible journey ʻAʻa has taken them on. It is special to think back on our time together as we voyaged, and see where we are now honoring Chris’ beautiful film on tour on the East coast of AUS. Every spot we have been to so far, showing A’a alongside Sensing Home with Dave, has been powerful to see how the community here shows up and supports! It makes me smile to see how much love Chris gets from everyone who has watched the film and want to talk with him afterwards. His creativity and positive spirit are so magnetic people can’t get enough! I’m excited to see where this takes us and the next adventures that are up ahead!
Chris and I were here about 8 years ago living out of a van for a month! We explored and met incredible people along the way, but this trip has been even better getting to come back and meet up with them again! So much life has passed and getting to hear about all of the new adventures, experiences, and changes has been lovely.
Dave Lauren and Minoa, thank you for being the most hospitable and intentional people I have met in a long time. There is something so contagious about the way you live life and carry your values. I’m inspired just by being around you and observing the lives you are living! Thank you for taking us in without question and supporting three silly kids from Hawaii. Please keep seeking out people around the world whose stories need to be told. I can’t wait to spend more time with you either in Hawaiʻi or Australia sometime soon!
My beautiful wife, Maya, and I are in the most amazing time of life right now, expecting our first baby in early September!
She is and always has been the strongest woman I know and it has been INSANE to see how gracefully she has handled this process. I was hesitant to go away on this trip, but she kept telling me that I needed to go and has supported me through this whole experience. Maya, thank you for supporting and loving me continuously (and letting me have a moment away from home)! I love you forever! *see photo below of the Patagonia kids jacket I got for our little guy.
Special shout to the other lovely people we have spent time with this time around on our travels : Sean Zebb and our girl Liv with the Patagonia team, Riley guy, Milo and Faye, Emi our favorite Italian, and the Wegener Family! Many blessings to you all and can’t wait to be with you next time!
