Aloha Ethnomads!
Keili Here -
Chris is somehow STILL ILL so I will take up on Substack yet again (E Kala mai if you sick of I). Donʻt worry, I will keep it short and sweet, because who is checking their emails this week anyway?
On December 16th we were able to sail beside Hōkūleʻa at Heeia Pier! It was so amazing to get to sail beside so many Hawaiian style voyaging canoes. We got to see many friends, and many of Chrisʻs old crew mates who were kind enough to give us le grande tour of Hōkūleʻa herself!

To make the day even more special, it was our dear friend, Britʻs Birthday :) We were able to take her and our other besties, Brisa and Sam along for the adventure. It was quite magical and special for us all <3
It was also our first chance to get to try out ʻAʻĀʻs new sail rig in all her glory! We finished setting up the sail on sandbar and sailed her new bamboo rig triumphantly alongside the hawaiian canoes. Chris also did the final layer of ding repair with fix-all underwater epoxy… I am sure he will tell you more about it when he does his post!
Live is moving quickly, I signed a new lease on a place with my sister and Cameron, I may have just gotten some job prospects, and a burger and a glass of cab was just placed in front of me… so I gotta run!
Mahalo nui Ethnomads for reading this short and sweet entry - it is so valuable for me to have these moments of reflection in the hustle bustle of life! So glad that you are with me!
