Updates
Nāhōkūhoʻokelewa’a has been ACTIVE this week. We got to sail her around Kāneʻohe bay and sleep out by secret island (our favorite).
Our friends, Nate and Carl have been working on something very special… not sure if we are allowed to share too much info, but we will definitely share as it becomes more public with you guys first - duh!
Sailing with friends is such a great feeling. Not only do i get to harness and work with the elements of the natural world, but i get to share that knowledge and empowerment with people i love who have never experiences it before. I’m so grateful that ʻAʻā has gifted that ability to Chris and I. Just so fun!
Chris also got the chance to dig out a lot of wood rot on the deck and mess around with some fun rigging tricks that Anakala shared while in Hilo.
Life check in
I really went into this month with the intention of peace and quiet and just not taking too much on. But, life just be busy and beautiful and chaotic and that’s just how it is. I’ve been so grateful to have my friends all visiting and just really going along with whatever my energy is whether we are just cruising or sailing on a big adventure and appreciate how my friends and even my work has been really helping me along this month. May is so full of life celebrations usually and this year especially because two big things are happening: 1) my cousin is getting married! Wooo! And, 2) I’m graduating with my Masters degree in Sustainability from ASU!! And you best believe my dad is DRIVING me all the way to Arizona. I did not get to walk for my undergrad because I was the first semester of Covid. So, my family has been so supportive of me in my journey towards attaining my masters and this just feels so fulfilling and even though it’s so exhausting and expensive and at times feels like why do I even need a degree… they always remind me why it’s worth it.
All that to say..
We are headed to California for a week to get all those celebrations in. I wish I had time to see all my California friends, but I know we will be back again soon :)
